Game #4 was “I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES!!!1”.

After the first three games I bought, and several others downloaded, from the Indie Games channel, I took a hiatus from gaming. Work and community/political involvement demands on my time were pretty intense for several years, and gaming took a back seat. I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES!!!1 helped bring me back in. This game is unmissable, and ridiculously good value for 80 MSP. Seriously, just go buy this game if you haven’t already.

This game is worth it for the song alone. The theme song is 15 minutes long and has some ironic and self-aware lyrics that are very amusing (for example, the song references how much the game costs). The game ends if you can survive the full 15 minutes of the song.

The game is a “twin stick shooter”, a genre that dates back at least as far as Robotron 2084, and one that surged back to popularity after the release of Geometry Wars several years ago. You move with one analogue stick, and fire with the other. Simple controls make the game easy to get into but relentless enemies keep it challenging, weapons options and several different playfields offer variety, and impressive visual effects add eye candy.

Why are you still here? Go play it already.
