Day 50: radiangames Inferno

Posted: 2010/12/29 in Indie Games

I’m purchasing an Xbox Live Indie Game every day, seeking out the quality titles that got lost in the shuffle and no longer appear in the top 50 downloads. Today is day #50, and today’s game is “radiangames Inferno”.

This game has been quite correctly designed as a mash-up between Gauntlet and Geometry Wars, with RPG-style upgrading upgrading elements included. It is all that, and more.

With a heavy emphasis on exploration, this game goes far and beyond your typical dual-stick shooter. Find keys to unlock areas. Discover hidden passageways into secret sections of the map. Upgrade your weapons and abilities at shops you’ll find as you explore. There’s not much I can say about this game that hasn’t already been said, as it’s gotten nearly universally positive reviews, and is an insane value at only 80 Microsoft Points.

For a second opinion, check out Kobun’s review of radiangames Inferno.

  1. Sadly, all the radiangames releases are now 400 MSP. It makes a difference.
