Day 248: Goblyn Stomp

Posted: 2011/07/15 in Indie Games

I’m purchasing an Xbox Live Indie Game (XBLIG) every day, seeking out the quality titles that got lost in the shuffle and are not well represented in the top 50 lists on the Xbox Dashboard. Today is day #248, and today’s game is “Goblyn Stomp”.

While Zombie Football Carnage gets all the glory, I think Goblyn Stomp is actually the best arena survival game in the XBLIG channel. With spot-on presentation that’s all top-hats and sepia, and a nice array of weaspons and abilities, it’s a surprisingly fun game for 80 Microsoft Points.

First, from the developer (Trevor B):

“Help Mr. Chap Scaliwag clear his street of the goblyn infestation! Use your fantastic stomps, remote mynes and spinning cane to defeat as many of the menacing monsters as you can!”

I wish I had time for a longer review tonight, but I’m actually heading to the hospital to see how my Dad is doing. Life stuff gets in the way sometimes. Like all shorter reviews, I intend to come back and flesh it out at some point in the future, as I have done for Arkedo Pixel and others in the past.

Click here to download “Goblyn Stomp”, and then please come back after playing to rate the game.

Know someone else who would want to read the review, or rate the game? “Share This” and invite them to.
