Every once in a while a twin-stick shooter trips over a concept so strange, yet so obvious, that I’m surprised it hasn’t been done before. Such is true of “Unplugged”. The game’s big differentiating factor is that the environment effects the direction of your shots. Specifically, you are protecting a drain from getting clogged up with food and the swirling water going down the drain graps your shots and puts a bit of “english” on their trajectory, forcing you to adapt on the fly. It’s a neat gimmick that works well and felt fresh, and (combined with a soundtrack that really sets the mood) is well worth 80 Microsoft Points.
Here’s what the developer (Murudai) has to say about the game:
“Spinny shooty action in a drain with up to 4 players. LOTS of crazy bosses. WARNING: may induce motion sickness.”
