“TurboRocket” surprised me, taking the momentum-infused gameplay of Asteroids and bringing it into the world of arena shooters. Its sequel, “TurboRocket 2”, upgrades the visuals, taking the doodle-game-as-reimagined-for-the-Vectrex and adding a lot more colour and detail. It also adds (offline) multiplayer for up to 4 players. Like with yesterday’s game, it’s worth the 80 Microsoft Point upgrade if you enjoyed the first game.
Here’s what the developer (cored.dk) has to say about the game:
“Account: This is a top-down 3d shooter. Purpose: Destroy and wipe out all enemies on each level. Reward: Joy and awesomeness. Variety: Play 1, 2 or 4 players at same screen Challenge: 8 custom-made levels.”
