Like a simplified version of sim-city crossed with a puzzle game, “MegaCity” gives you a random selection of city block tiles to place for maximum points. What relationships between buildings produce the largest points? Is it better to put the city dump near a residential area or an industrial area? Rather than holding the game back, the random nature of what you’re given actually enhances the game as no two games play the same and replay value is significantly enhanced. If you want more structured gameplay, there is a series of scenarios to plow through.
I love the presentation of the game. If you place a prison, you get rewarded with the slam of a prison door, for example. A lot of throught has gone into “MegaCity”, and it’s a great, great game for 80 Microsoft Points.
Here’s what the developer (ColePowered) has to say about the game:
“MegaCity is a highly original and fun ‘one-more-go’ style puzzle game. Easy to learn, hard to master gameplay which requires thinking, logic and luck. Place buildings in the queue to earn points, but watch out, nobody wants to live next to a landfill or industrial estate! Megacity is a game of planning and thinking ahead to squeeze the most points of out your citizens by clever town planning.”
