I played arcade classic “Time Pilot” in the ’80s at some point and was immediately smitten. I played the game further when it came out on XBLA, though a few achievements still elude me. But what if I wanted more? What if I wanted four player co-op? Faster action? A more zoomed-out perspective to take advantage of that big HDTV? “MiG Madness” gives me all of the above.
Some may pass on it for the lack of online play, or for the lack of online leaderboards. I understand that, but I don’t agree. 80 Microsoft Points for a nice, smooth, fast, modern take on Time Pilot with local co-op is worth 80 Microsoft Points to me.
Here’s what the developer (Bionic Shark Studios) has to say about the game:
“Outnumbered, but not outgunned! Destroy the relentless waves of enemy MiG-15 jet aircraft, and be the Top Gun. Your weapon is the legendary North American F-86 Sabre jet. Play solo or with 1-4 player coop in this fast paced, Korean war era shooter. Mere survival is not enough – you’ll need a severe case of “MiG Madness”, and hunger for crazy Power-ups to truly be the best!”
