“About To Blow Up Part 1” is a point-and-click adventure with a hip-hop setting (yet, a surprising lack of actual hip-hop music), with a rags-to-riches story that’s amusing and has a very old-school feel to the animation (by old school, I mean 20+ years before I was born, and I’m pushing 40, which counts as old school IMO).
It has all the good and bad that goes with point-and-clikc adventures: puzzles that are sometimes too easy, and sometimes so hard you wonder how anyone could ever get them, but for the most part it moves along pretty well. Fans of classic animation, and fans of point-and-click adventure, will both probably find a lot to like here for 80 Microsoft Points.
