Day 715: Doom & Destiny

Do you like Japanese-style role-playing games (JRPGs)? Do you think that 240 Microsoft Points is a reasonable sum to pay for something with 15+ hours of gameplay, that takes tonnes of work for the developer to create? Then go buy “Doom & Destiny” right now, as its an inexpensive, high-quality game that delivers on its promises.

Oh, you’re still here? You want more reasons to purchase it? OK, then, “Doom & Destiny” also offers humour, a deep skill system, hundreds of enemies and items, and more. The story has four nerdy kids who get transported to a fantasy world. It reminds me a bit of reading “Amethyst: Princess of Gemworld” as a kid, though I suppose it’s more closely a modern take on the idea behind the Narnia books.

The game looks and sounds good, and for any fan of the genre it’s a definite download (for a trial, at least).

Here’s what the developer (HeartBit Interactive) has to say about the game:

“Doom & Destiny is an old-school RPG with an unconventional mood. Strange events bring four nerdy friends in a fantasy world made of cliche, strange people and a lot of humor. Featuring more than 15 hours of fun, 100 skills to defeat the 200+ enemies and over 300 between items and equipment D&D is a must have in your collection.”
