I love these games from Maximinus. As opposed to previously reviewed “8 Ball Champion LIVE” and “9 Ball Champion LIVE” (which, oddly, and apparently in keeping with the actual games of pool represented, has fewer balls than “8 Ball” style), “27 Ball Funky Pool” takes a decidedly irreverent take on pool, with a huge number of balls, and all sorts of funky colour. While online play is not on offer, local multiplayer and solo play both are, including multiple levels of assistance for those who want to pull off huge trick shots.
Buy one of the 8 Ball or 9 Ball games if you want a serious competitive experience, but plop 80 Microsoft Points on “27 Ball Funky Pool” if you want a casual and/or social pool experience with a bit more personality.
Here’s what the developer (Maximinus) has to say about the game:
“Discover Funky Pool : the pool game with 27 disco balls! Enjoy your pool games with 4-player party mode, and cooperative play against the computer. Featuring multi rebound Cheat-O-Laser for insane trickshots!”
