Day 884: SlideColors

Posted: 2013/04/12 in Indie Games

This is one puzzle game that did something that (I think) I haven’t seen before. (Why add the qualifier “I think”? You try doing nearly 900 reviews and remembering each and every one. ;) ). “SlideColors” is a puzzler whose primary gameplay mechanic is based around a mechanic similar to the Rubik’s cube reimagined in two dimensions. It’s a colour matching game, but you can only slide an entire row (or column). Success is based around pre-planning more than the typical match-3 game, therefore, and I liked that for 80 Microsoft Points.

Here’s what the developer (AngelMarcos) has to say about the game:

“Slide Colors offers a unique gameplay experience based on the combination of various elements of the same color using special items with an amazing playability. Choose between 3 different game modes(100 levels for each mode and two levels of difficulty) – Puzzle Mode, Time Attack, Clear Blocks and unlock the 8 awards available.”

I think we need to get in touch with the Guinness Book of Records. This just has to be some sort of record and you deserve more recognition than you are getting.

I couldn’t agree more David. I had to do a double-take when I first discovered this blog. Who has this kind if dedication? A very extraordinary blog indeed, and much under appreciated. I am learning a little everyday :)
