Now this is one I didn’t expect to like. “Zombie Sausages 2” is a shooting gallery game that surprised me with two quite disparate modes of play, and a lot of fun. Shooting gallery games have come a long way since I played Carnival on the Intellivision in the ’80s, it seems.
One mode has you trying to mow down sausages as fast as possible, with failure coming if the sausage population reaches a critical mass. A standout feature of this mode is that it has destructible environments, but score attack enthusiasts should take note that there are humans and other things in the environment that will hurt your score if you take them out (the game’s developer apparently trying to see what gamers can do killing sausages by the bucketload, but with precision). The other mode has you trying to identify and eliminate a specific sausage (the correct sausage will be in a sea of randomly generated sausages with different facial/bodily features, and it’s harder than it looks).
The levels have a lot of personality, and there’s a decent selection of weapons. The 80 Microsoft Points of oddball fun.
Here’s what the developer (magma2280) has to say about the game:
“The zombie sausages are back! Including a brand new two player mode. There is nowhere you can hide, these sausages are trying to take over the world.”
How did I miss this one. I loved Zombie Sausages (the first one). Thanks for the find. :D
I actually haven’t played Zombie Sausages (the first one). I know, unusual for me to play the sequel before the original. *shrug*
So I did the trial on 2 and it has more levels (top to bottom) of Sausage Zombies to shoot which gives it an added difficulty. Well that other other backgrounds of course.
Glad you did in this case (play 2 before 1) since I never knew that there was a 2.
Looks absolutely and gratuitously silly. I’ll have to try it.
Having tried it and thoroughly enjoyed it, I can declare this game is a riot. It is difficult to play it and NOT get a goofy grin slaughtering sausages (that more closely resemble pickles). Thanks for bringing it to our attention!
You buying and enjoying the game is the reason I do this site. I certainly don’t do it because I have time on my hands to burn (*rolling my eyes*). :)
