I’m not sure if this really counts as a genre mashup, given it’s a bit like a solo version of “Hungry, Hungry, Hippos” paired with a solo version of “Scrabble”, both of which are board games rather than video games, but somehow it all works. “Letter Munch” plays out simply enough, divide your attention between grabbing letters, and spelling words with them… or do both simultaneously if you’re *really* good. It’s a creative and innovative twist on word games, and worth the money formerly known as 80 Microsoft Points for fans of the genre.
Here’s what the developer (ipstset) has to say about the game:
“Munch. Spell. Score. How large is your vocabulary? Capture the falling letters to create words. Use double and triple-score tiles and chain multiple bonuses to keep time from expiring and get the high score.”
