Remember “Boulder Dash” on the Commodore 64? Apparently the developers of “Gems N Rocks” did, as the game is an upgraded homage to it. And I’m OK with that.
As opposed to “Dig Dug”, there is a lot of exploration here, and a lot more to collect. You have to dig a path through to each of the gems, making sure you don’t bury them under boulders such that you can’t grab them, and that you don’t end up getting crushed under a boulder yourself. There’s even a level editor for those who enjoy “rolling their own”. “I’d buy that for a dollar!”
Here’s what the developer (Fuzzy Duck Entertainment) has to say about the game:
“Gems N Rocks is a remake and expansion of the classic Boulders type game; You collect gems and push rocks. Many different enemies and objects are included. Also included is a level editor, so you can create and share (via Memory Unit or USB stick) your created levels. Challenge your friends to complete levels you create! Many built in levels included for entertainment and inspiration!”
That looks like a lot of fun, I haven’t even played rock & gems and this looks like a lot of fun. Especially with the level editor
I haven’t played Rocks & Gems, but I did play Boulder Dash waaaaay back in the day on the Commodore 64.
