Coming to us from the makers of “Gems N Rocks” and “Fractalus” comes something… well, something totally different.
Playing a bit like Othello/TurboFlipper/Go/Wei Chi/Chess/etc., but on a three dimensional sphere, “Atomic Blast” is a revelation. You build up atoms. As they get bigger, they get closer to exploding. When they explode, they take control of everything within a given radius. This allows you to “gain ground” against your opponents. Opponents, you say? Yes, up to 16 players total, in fact (hot swapping controllers).
It’s that rare strategy game that’s extremely pick up and play. You can play it offensively, or you can play defensively by creating unstable formations and waiting for opponents to go near them and close the trap when they do. If you don’t have up to 15 friends, don’t worry, it also has solo play against AI opponents. It’s fast, it’s fun, it’s visually attractive, and it only costs $1. I strongly recommend a download.
Here’s what the developer (Fuzzy Duck Entertainment) has to say about the game:
“In Atomic Blast up to 16 players take turns to place atoms on a sphere grid. Build up your molecules until they reach breaking point where they explode sending atoms flying over the grid converting enemy atoms to your own. Eliminate your friends’ atoms through strategy and massive chain reactions.”
