Day 1190: Dodge These Balls

Posted: 2014/02/12 in Indie Games

Back when I reviewed “A Frog Game” I noted that “It comes to us from the publisher of “M.A.C.E.” and “Tap Blox”, among several other (unreviewed) games.”

Well, here’s one of those unreviewed games. And it’s from way back in 2009, too. “Dodge These Balls” is just about as simple as the name suggests. But sometimes simple is good. Tetris could have been named “Drop These Blocks” and it’d be a statement of fact, right?

Well, “Dodge These Balls” takes a similarly simple concept, with one cool twist. Every 20 seconds or so another ball to avoid is dropped into the playfield.

So if you’re like me, and the most fun you ever had with Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved was trying to get the pacifism achievement (where you tried to play for 60 seconds without firing a single shot, while avoiding all the enemies). I love avoid-’em-up gameplay, so this is $1 that’s right up my alley.

Here’s what the publisher (EntwicklerX) has to say about the game:

“Try to avoid áll gray Balls with your Red Ball as long as you can.”
