A fast and furious top-down shooter with both solo and local multiplayer, “Dot Wars” brings a large array of maps and gameplay modes to flesh out a simple, yet tried and true formula. The level design is good, and the number of modes is impressive (and generally inspired by modern FPS multiplayer game modes, rather than retro games). There’s a lot to like here for a dollar
Here’s what the publisher (Emberware Xbox) has to say about the game:
“Dot Wars is an arcade style shoot-em-up game that supports up to four local players. Choose from any of the four commanders of the dot armies and take to the battlefield, guns blazing. Game objectives range from classical 1-on-1-on-1-on-1 brawls to cooperation in taking down legions of doom. Capture flags in electrical power plants or hunt down your enemies while relaxing by the lava riverside.”
