World War II, once all the rage with “Medal of Honor” and “Call of Duty”, has recently been largely absent from modern gaming. Return to the second Great War with “Avatar Honor and Duty”.
From the publisher of “The Co-Op Zombie Game” and “Paintball War”, and based on the engine that powered the latter, “Avatar Honor and Duty” brings you WWII first-person shooting action with killstreaks, perks, and many (though not all) of the trappings of modern shooters.
It does a lot right, with both solo play and online/system link multiplayer for up to 16. Maps are tight and the games quick. You can equip up to two perks at once, and there’s lots to unlock as you progress, as well as the ability to upgrade weapons. Easily recommended for fans of the genre, especially with it costing only a dollar.
Here’s what the publisher (Strange Games) has to say about the game:
“Battle against 15 other players in this World War II shooter featuring classic weapons of the day. Upgrade your weapons, earn perks and rewards while progressing through the ranks. COD players will feel right at home in this action packed game set in the streets of a European village.”
