I’ve been hesitant to check this game out for a while. For a long while. It doesn’t have great reviews on the Dashboard, and it looks a little rough around the edges. However, “Fun in the Gulf” is the only way on the xbox to play the strategy board game “Lines of Action”, and it’s an interesting enough game that it’s worth a download to see if it’s a game that’s up your alley. Yes this rendition of it is (for better or worse) inspired by current events, but it’s still a game very much worth trying for people who like games like chess, checkers, othello, go/wei chi, and the like.
Here’s what the publisher (Living Creature Studios) has to say about the game:
“Fun in the Gulf is an implementation of the abstract strategy board game Lines of Action. We hope you enjoy our unique, internet-phenomenon-influenced theme as you play this classic board game for what is probably the first time (if you are a college-aged male who spends 10-20 hours per week online, we know you will).”
