Yesterday’s “The Unbreakable Chain” led me to an obscure (and I mean *obscure*) 2011 release entitled “Four Winds Fantasy”.
Taking the same hand-drawn art style that typically inspires a “love it” or “hate it” response, and reminds me of Ren & Stimpy (amongst other popular surrealistic animation and art), this is something that’ll either seem pathetic or charming, bolstered by deliberately cheesy/humourous dialogue and characters (such as a rendition of George W. Bush in diapers). I’m in the charming camp. Gameplay of this $1 title has you running around, talking to people, exploring, and more. It’s less about “fail states”, and more about the surrealistic journey.
Here’s what the publisher (QUIMDUNG CO. LTD.) has to say about the game:
“Embolden yourself to the mystery of the Winds. Take control of a lonely father discovering the paranoia behind a town that seems so mysterious and dangerous that only a genius could understand it. When the Winds call, you absolutely must follow.”
