An unabashed love letter to classic 2D top-down Zelda games, but with its own levels, enemies, and charms, “Shipwreck” is an amazing $3 entrant into action/adventure RPGs… except for one detail. It’s now only $1. That, plus title updates with bug fixes and additional content, is one of the benefits to trolling for hidden gems in the indie games catalogue!
You explore and you fight, as you work your way towards the end of the quest. It has good retro-inspired production values, and at a dollar it’s now unmissable. If you’ve ever enjoyed a 2D action/adventure game, this is at *least* worth a download.
Here’s what the publisher (Nick Gravelyn) has to say about the game:
“Your ship has gone down during a terrible storm. Explore the island, defeat the monsters, and earn your way off the island to set sail for home.”
